BY AIR

Our nearest airports are either Granada or Málaga – both around an hour away depending on traffic.

From Granada Airport

Take the A-92M direction Córdoba and Sevilla and come off at the junction immediately AFTER the A45 junction to Málaga – it is signed to Iznájar and Salinas.

Right at the T-Junction. Continue without deviation on the A333. You will cross the border between Málaga and Córdoba and start to descend around the spectacular views of Iznájar and the lake.

Cross over two bridges, which bring you around the cliff of Iznájar on your right – the road changes to A331.

Continue round the corner and up the hill, passing bars, a builders’ merchant and after the corner a petrol station on your left.

At the top of the hill, there is a tiny right turn signed La Celada 1,2km opposite El Charcon Bar. Turn Right. Follow this road to the end, winding through the olive groves.

At the T Junction, turn right again.

As you drive into the Plaza de San José, Casa La Celada is directly in front of you, a wedge shaped white house with white and blue tiles around the lowest metre. Park to the right side of the house where you will find our front door.

From Málaga Airport:

PLEASE FAMILIARISE YOURSELF WITH THESE DIRECTIONS BEFORE LEAVING.  THE FIRST TWO MOTORWAY CHANGES HAPPEN QUICKLY AND IF YOU ARE NOT READY FOR THEM, YOU MIGHT FIND YOU’VE GONE WRONG!

From the Car Hire Garage, follow signs for Exit / Salida.

Bear round to the right, staying to the left if possible, bringing you to a small roundabout.  If you can, be in the left hand lane already.

Go straight across, keeping in the LEFT lane – signed MA21, Malaga and San Julian.

This left lane takes you over the motorway and bears round to the right bringing you onto the motorway

Stay in the right hand lane, following signs to Granada A45.  This will lead you onto a second motorway change within a km.

You stay on this motorway for a few km, passing Malaga on your right.

Keep an eye out for signs to Córdoba A45 and Granada on this third motorway and when the signage leads you off to the right, take it.

You will drive through tunnels, past Casabermeja where you will see a black bull on the right hillside in daylight, and then past Colmenar.

Once you pass Colmenar, look out for signs to A92(M) Granada.

Take the A92(M) by simply staying in the right lane which creates a change in motorways

You will pass Villanueva de Tapia (don’t get caught in the right lane that will drive you down into Tapia itself!) across the border between Málaga and Córdoba, drive some sharp bends, go past a big BP garage on your left and start to descend around the spectacular views of Iznájar and the lake.

Cross over the first long bridge, note the right turn directly after it as that is your main road into Iznajar for tourist visits.

Just before the second bridge is a new bar on your left – Casa Juani.

Cross over the second smaller bridge, passing Iznájar high up on the hill on your right.

At the end of this bridge is a left turn – take note – it takes you to the beach, tennis courts, beach bars, beach hotel and watersports.

On your right are two bars – neither of which we know to recommend to you, but after them is the Olive Mill on the right before the road bears left.

The  road name changes to A331.  Continue round the corner and note the petrol station on your left.  They have a shop which is open when everywhere else is closed.  The bar next to it, Bar Majadillas, cooks roast chickens and paella to order on a Sunday – tel (0034) 618 97 99 95!

Drive up to the top of the hill, there is a tiny right turn signed La Celada 1,2km opposite your closest eatery, Bar El Charcon. Turn Right.
